| History
JMJ Technologies, Inc. was founded in June, 1994, and began beta-testing a pediatric version of our core product, the EncounterPRO® EHR, in December, 1995. The EncounterPRO EHR was publicly launched at the Medical Records Institute's annual conference and exhibition, TEPR (Towards the Electronic Patient Record) in May, 1997. We have several hundred implementations, serving thousands of users, of our award-winning electronic health record (EHR/EMR) across 32 states, the District of Columbia, Curacao, Trinidad, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. JMJ has developed the EncounterPRO EHR in compliance with the National Academy of Science, Institute of Medicine's (IOM) benchmark report: The Computer-Based Patient Record: An Essential Technology for Health Care. We are actively participating in the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology initiative. The mission of JMJ is to increase productivity, efficiency, and quality of care in the medical community by developing highly intuitive, state-of-the-art clinical information systems. The EncounterPRO EHR's design is radically different from its competitors. Its unique user interface, integrated Workflow Management System, screen presentation and touch technology make it the fastest, easiest to learn, easiest to implement and most cost-effective EHR on the market. For several years, EncounterPRO has given clinicians the most flexible and sophisticated workflow engine available in an EHR. Practices may configure the progression of screens and services during a patient encounter in a way that maximizes the efficiency of each member of the clinical team. Moreover, the office status screen has allowed clinicians to priortize their tasks, all of which are displayed, individually timed, and color-coded according to provider. This unique design has made the EncounterPRO EHR the only EMR/EHR that significantly increases revenues at customer sites because the clinical staff becomes substantially more efficient. Beyond these differentiators, EncounterPRO has another salient advantage--it's highly componetized, open architecture allows easy integration of third-party devices, content, connectivity, and application software. The EncounterPRO EHR is seamlessly integrated with more than 25 industry leading billing/scheduling systems. Gregory D. Healthcare is the largest industry in the U.S., and according to Gruntal & Co., Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) is the fastest growing sector in healthcare. Sheldon I. Dorenfest & Associates report that the HIT market (both clinical and financial systems) is gaining in momentum, rising from a growth rate of 2.7% in 2000 to 5.2% in 2001 to 8.0% in 2002. Dorenfest and associates forecast that the market will continue to grow reaching a growth rate of 8.8% in 2003 and 8.9% in 2004. In support of these estimates, 74% of respondents to the 2002 Annual HIMSS Leadership Survey identified clinical information systems [EMRs] as the most important healthcare application for their organizations during the next two years. JMJ's own experience validates these predictions--sales for the last three years have increased an average of 76% per year. |
