Buzz on the Web
"Millbrook Practice Manager and JMJ Technologies' EncounterPro EMR automatically share data with each other, which greatly reduces the amount of data entry and paperwork required. We save more and more money all the time now,' says clinic administrator Patty Hernandez. 'Before we had the combined system, we saw 35 patients a day with 19 employees. Now we see 52 patients a day with only 15 employees...I love the way that Millbrook Practice Manager and EncounterPro work together to code the charts and claims,' Ms. Hernandez says. 'We used to have three people just inputting codes from superbills. Now no one has to type those codes at all. Accuracy is a lot better too; the doctor can pick exactly the right procedure instead of just what's printed on the superbill.'"

Southwestern Women's Clinic: The joys of a paperless office

"If you prefer a local network-based EMR, consider EncounterPro from JMJ Technologies. EncounterPro's simplicity and design distinguishes it from the competition. It is a workflow-based system. An office equipped with EncounterPro has a computer terminal in every exam room. At any of these terminals, you can find out what is going on in any room, if a room needs cleaning or setting up for a new patient, if a patient is waiting for vital signs to be taken or a nursing assessment to be done, or if a physician is interviewing or examining a patient. EncounterPro features a very simple interface, with large, clearly marked buttons and interchangeable screens. You can switch from nursing-intake screens, to vital-signs screens, to prescription and super-bill generating screens. From any screen, you can create a comprehensive office note from a series of lists. EncounterPro has received many awards for design."

"Pediatric Physician Alliance, Inc. (PPA), an innovative and experienced provider of business services for medical practices, has entered into a strategic partnership with JMJ Technologies, Inc., makers of the award-winning EncounterPRO(R), a leading electronic medical record (EMR) and workflow system."

"The practice chose EncounterPRO because it easily integrated with its billing and scheduling programs, and for its touch-screen capabilities. 'It's a very user-friendly, template-driven design,' offered McGhee. 'I felt it was important to choose a product that wasn't intimidating.'

According to McGhee, the results have been amazing. 'We have eliminated the position of file clerk,' she reported, 'which allowed us to reassign that person to answering the phones and get rid of our automated answering system. Now callers can actually speak to a live person, and the parents just love that.'

In fact, both the patients and the providers have benefited from the new system. 'It has allowed our physicians to increase the number of patients they see in a day,' said McGhee. 'And it has given the physicians that were already high-volume the opportunity to spend a little more time with their patients and be more personable. It has made a big difference.'

Concluded McGhee, 'We were looking for miracles when we implemented our EPR, and we actually got them.'"

Establishing a Paperless Reality: EPR Success Stories

"But the leader in workflow-oriented CPR solutions for physician offices has to be JMJ Technologies (Marietta, Georgia), which also was at HIMSS. JMJ has customized its core workflow-oriented products to the needs of specific types of physician practices, achieving both the benefits of a workflow-optimized process with the efficiency of a solution customized to the needs of specific types of practices."

"EncounterPRO (R), a leading electronic medical record (EMR) and workflow system, captured first place in the category of ambulatory care EMR systems at the Toward an Electronic Patient Record (TEPR) 2000 conference held in San Francisco."

JMJ's EncounterPRO Wins First Place Honors at TEPR

"...EncounterPRO by JMJ Tech. It was very easy to use, and was built around a pick list-type structure for creating encounters. It has a clean interface and is built so that you can enter data by touching the screen with your finger - large decision boxes, etc. The thing I noticed was that even the least computer-sophisticated doctors in the demo group sat right down at the screen and started tapping away with no fear."

RE: Stamford IPA Review of Office Medical Systems

"EncounterPRO is a clinical management system that features an electronic medical record, a patient tracking system, and a dynamic, configurable office workflow system which recently won first place in the category of ambulatory care EMR systems at the Toward an Electronic Patient Record 2000 conference held in San Francisco."

"Data drawn from more than five case studies of 'paperless' offices will show how physicians' offices realize ROI, increase productivity, and improve service protocols by implementing a computer-based patient record (CPR) that automates clinical processes into a "unified solution."

"Another concession to doctors' anti-typing bias is the touch screen, which lets you access and enter data by touching buttons, text, icons, and scroll bars on the computer screen itself, rather than selecting them via a mouse or the keyboard. An electronic medical record system called EncounterPRO...from JMJ Technologies in Marietta, GA, advertises that its touch screen requires no computer literacy. EncounterPRO user Jeffrey Cooper, a pediatrician in Norcross, GA, says charting a typical patient visit on the touch screen takes only 30 seconds."

Don't let this revolution leave you behind

My pediatrician's office is completely paperless and they use "Encounter PRO". It is a touch screen system and all of the information from patient's signatures authorizing treatment to billing are all automated and done before the patient leaves the office. I was impressed with the system...

Re: Physician EMR systems

"JMJ won the competition for their product, EncounterPRO, from Marietta, GA. This product is written in such a way (Active-X objects are exposed) that programmers can easily customize add-ons for their program."
