JMJ's EncounterPRO® Wins Microsoft Industry Solution Award

EncounterPRO, a computer-based patient record (CPR) and workflow system produced by JMJ Technologies, Inc. of Marietta, GA captured first place honors in the category of ambulatory care clinical systems, rising above two other finalists for the prestigious Microsoft 2001 Industry Solution Awards (ISA) for Healthcare. The award, honoring applications built on Microsoft technology, was announced at a ceremony during the Microsoft Healthcare Users Conference in San Diego, CA.

"We're elated that Microsoft recognizes the excellence of our product and its concrete business benefits," said Jim Copenhaver, JMJ president. "EncounterPRO, with its ease of use and customization to the workflow of each physician's office, yields a paperless office in record time." The Georgia company now serves more than 1450 users in 25 states and is integrated with more than a dozen leading billing/scheduling systems.

About JMJ

JMJ Technologies is a privately-held company in business since 1994. They are a leading developer of state-of-the-art computer-based patient records. EncounterPRO's advanced workflow system--unique in the industry--permits patient information to flow instantaneously from screen to screen throughout the office. EncounterPRO uses a Navigational Interface characterized by the absence of pull-down menus or windows-within-windows. The radical simplicity and easy configurability of this interface allows physicians and their staffs to use the product after minimal training and to rapidly enter data at the point of care. Ambulatory care physicians can chart typical patients--completely and comprehensively--in less than two minutes, and in pediatrics in less than 30 seconds. The application utilizes touchscreens or pen computers on a wired or wireless client-server or thin client platform. EncounterPRO is compatible with Microsoft Back Office and SQL Server 2000.

JMJ Technologies Wins Prestigious HITS Award from Healthcare Informatics

JMJ Technologies, Inc. and Cooper Pediatrics were named finalists today in the Healthcare Innovations in Technology Systems (HITS) partnership awards. The awards, created in 1992 by Henry Ford Health System, honor partnerships of healthcare organizations and technology vendors for the creative use of new or emerging technology to improve the quality of patient care.

The team of JMJ Technologies and Cooper Pediatrics won in the category of small outpatient organizations (50 or fewer physicians). Cooper Pediatrics was cited for a computer-based patient record system that has increased billings and the number of patient visits. One winning team and one runner-up team will be announced in each of the competition's four categories on Thursday, April 19, during the 3rd annual Healthcare Informatics & e.MD Expo & Conference in Chicago.

The other finalist team in the small outpatient organization category was Henry R. Palmer & Associates, Chicago and Medical Manager Health Systems, Tampa, Fl.

Fifty-eight teams entered the four categories of competition this year. The teams were judged by national healthcare information technology experts on 10 criteria: collaboration, uniqueness of the application, attainable implementation, improved patient care quality, improved management of clinical information, cost justification, attainable technology, improved quality of education and research, connectivity with other systems, and sophistication of the technology itself.
