JMJ Technologies Staff to Discuss Interfacing EHRs and State Vaccine Registries at Fifth Annual Public Health Information Network (PHIN) Conference

Atlanta, GA -- August 17, 2007 – Charles Webster, MD, MSIE, MSIS, CMIO at JMJ Technologies in Atlanta, and Sumathi Chinnasamy, Development Manager, will present “Five EHR/State Vaccine Registry Case Studies,” August 27 in Atlanta at the Fifth Annual Public Health Information Network (PHIN) Conference. Their presentation will discuss how ambulatory EHRs fit into the evolving public health information network by comparing and contrasting five interfaces between the EncounterPRO EHR and five state vaccine registries.

Based on ease of project management, simplicity of data flow, standardization of data format, and maturity of transport infrastructure, five state vaccine registries will be compared with respect to transmission of EHR data. The point will be made that many of the same data extraction, transformation, and transportation tasks that must be accomplished to supply EHR data to one public health resource must also be accomplished with respect to other public health resources as well.

G
reg Vacca, President and CEO of JMJ Technologies said “As creators of the EncounterPRO EHR, which is used by so many pediatricians in so many states, we are proud to share with the public health informatics community our progress and goals. We envision a virtuous cycle that drives both EHR and public health information systems toward greater individual effectiveness and accomplishment of shared clinical goals.”
