Press Release
Atlanta, GA--Sept. 16, 1998

EncounterPRO, JMJ's award-winning computer-based patient record (CPR) and workflow system software for physicians' offices, has been named a finalist in Microsoft's annual Industry Solution Awards for Healthcare (ISAH).

EncounterPRO features a Navigational Interface characterized by the absence of pull-down menus or windows-within-windows. The radical simplicity and easy configurability of this interface allows physicians and their staffs to use the product after four hours--or less--of training. Ambulatory care physicians can then typically chart most patients--completely and comprehensively--in less than 30 seconds

In addition, EncounterPRO has an advanced workflow system that permits patient information to flow instantaneously from screen to screen throughout the office. The application utilizes touchscreens or pen computers and a client-server platform. EncounterPRO is compatible with Microsoft Back- Office, SQL Server, and ActiveX.

EncounterPRO was judged one of the top three solutions in the category of Ambulatory Care--Clinical/Patient Information Systems. ISAH finalists were selected from among hundreds of independent software vendors offering software solutions using Microsoft technologies. Winners of each of the eight categories will be announced at a special awards presentation at Microsoft Healthcare User Group (MS-HUG) Exhibition on Oct. 13, 1998 in Orlando, Florida.

Jim Copenhaver, JMJ CEO, credits EncounterPRO's award to product usability and workflow. "Physicians seeking to implement a CPR need an application that is easy to learn, easy to use and that improves patient care along with office efficiency," he stated.

Norcross pediatrician Dr. Jeffrey D. Cooper beta-tested EncounterPRO for fourteen months in his solo practice, beginning in December, 1995. In 1996, Dr. Cooper reopened his closed practice, added 2,000 new patients, and increased his billings by $200,000. In 1997, Dr. Cooper added 400 more patients to his practice and increased his billings by another $120,000. He predicts additional increases this year. Charting in his office has been paperless for over 22 months.

Dr. Cooper was featured on the January 1998 cover of Health Management Technology as winner of one of the trade magazine's first place "What Works" awards for 1997.A recent install illustrates the application's usability. At McDonough Pediatrics in McDonough, Ga., headed by Dr. Sakar Sankaran, the entire staff was trained within four hours. JMJ allotted one week for the staff to become familiar with the application at their own speed. On the following Monday at 8:30 a.m., the office went on-line with EncounterPRO, according to Dee McGhee, office manager. Two hours later, the two physicians on duty stopped dictating for transcription. More than 150 patients, including 40 telephone encounters, were charted that first day. On Wednesday, three days after going on-line, patient charting went paperless.

Besides serving pediatrics, the core product is now being configured to the other primary care specialties, according to Mr. Copenhaver. JMJ will release an Internal Medicine configuration in November. Releases in Internal Medicine and Ob/Gyn will soon follow. In addition, JMJ will soon offer a release in Urology.

Physicians can use EncounterPRO either as a stand-alone system or integrate it with a billing/scheduling application.

Founded in 1994, JMJ is a privately held company located in Marietta, GA. EncounterPRO currently serves over 170 users at 10 sites throughout the Southeast. JMJ is listed in the September edition of Advance for Health Information Executives as one of the top 20 CPRs of the industry.

Press Release
Atlanta, GA--June 25, 1998

JMJ was recognized for its leading edge technology in developing a computer-based patient record (CPR) for physicians' offices when the company was selected to be featured on Executive Forum, the nationally syndicated television series hosted by Jim Lovell of Apollo 13 fame.

JMJ President Jim Copenhaver participated in a 30-minute roundtable discussion on information technology in the healthcare industry along with the CEOs of two other companies: Michael King of the Compucare Company and Wayne Copes of TriAnalytics, Inc. The show was taped on June 25 in New York City and will air the second week in September on more than 65 stations across the country.

According to Executive Forum producers, more than 1.5 million viewers watch the business talk show every week.

Copenhaver discussed the revolutionary characteristics of EncounterPRO and how JMJ's unique CPR can help make the "paperless office" a reality. He also answered questions pertaining to the cost effectiveness of EncounterPRO, how managed care and government regulations have increased CPR demand, and JMJ's role in the future of healthcare technology.

The final taping may include location footage showing EncounterPRO in actual use in a physician's office.
